Spring Football Game

Location: Open Space Park Football Field

The Dordt College Football team would like to invite the public to their Spring Football game on April 29 at Open Space Park Football Field. Tailgating fun will include bean bag toss, ladder golf, and much more starting at 5:00 pm. Food will be served from 5:30 to 7:00 at cost of $5 or free for children 6 and under. A free will donation will be available with all proceeds going toward the Dordt College Football Team. Family fun activities including inflatables, face painting, and a dunk tank for a small price. The game starts at 7:00 with a punt, pass, and kick competition and a relay race at intermission for a change to win Defender Gear.

Día de Los Niños, Día de Los Libros

Location: Orange City Public Library

The Orange City Public Library will host its third annual Día de Los Niños, Día de Los Libros event from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, April 29. This celebration of childrens literacy will include activities for kids of all ages, story readings, a game of lotería, free Spanish and bilingual children’s books, and free snacks.

SpringFest

Valley Male Chorus

Location: Calvin Christian Reformed Church of Rock Valley

The Valley Male Chorus of Rock Valley, will be presenting their last sacred music concert of the season following the evening worship service on Sunday evening, April 30 at the Calvin Christian Reformed Church of Rock Valley. This concert will begin at 7:30 pm and is being sponsored by the Calvin Christian Reformed Church of Rock Valley. A freewill donation will be taken for the benefit of persons with disabilities receiving services at Hope Haven, both locally and around the world. Everyone is invited to this evening of praise and thanksgiving.

Bible League Spring Salad Luncheon

All women are invited to attend the Bible League Spring Salad Luncheon at 11:30 am on Monday, May 1. The luncheon is at Sanborn URC, located at 805 Sunrise Ave in Sanborn, Iowa. Please bring a salad for every two ladies and enjoy the luncheon and fellowship with women from many area churches. They are extending a special invitation to pastors to join. Harold Trujillo, Regional Training Coordinator, will speak on the Project Phillip program. An offering will be taken going towards providing Bibles in the Swahili language for millions of people in Africa.

National Alliance on Mental Illness Support Group

The National Alliance on Mental Illness Support Group will meet in the Fireside Room of Central Reformed Church in Sioux Center from 7:00 to 9:00 pm on Tuesday, May 2. Lori White, the author of Growing Season, will speak on the topic “Coping with Bipolar Illness.” Individuals and family members coping with mental illness are invited to attend. Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Class

Sioux Center Health is providing a Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Class on Tuesday, May 9 from 6:30 to 10:00 pm in conference room 2. This class is designed for daycare providers to learn children/infant first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillator (AED) to use in a safe, timely and effective manner.
