Learn how to identify, assess, and treat opioid and other addiction at Promise Community Health Center. Two experts from Jackson Recovery Center in Sioux City will lead a community education forum. The training is geared toward medical, dental, mental health, and substance abuse disorder professionals in the care for their patients or clients, but any community member who would like to become better informed about opioids and other chemical dependency issues is encouraged to attend. The next Arts in the Park will include Story Songs from the 50’s by Mark DeLap and Jazz music with Retasya Badudu and Jazmin Medieta Guato, and music from various Dordt music Students. The booths will run from 4-7 pm and include various activities and products from face painting to arts and crafts tents. The event is free but booths may charge for their services.

Beef and Dairy producers and allied agri-business professionals are invited to attend a NW Iowa Corn Silage Clinic at the NW Iowa Research and Demonstration Farm near Sutherland. The clinic features nationally-known speakers visiting about how to make quality corn silage. Harvest topics include factors affecting quality, silage and kernel processing equipment, silage additives and inoculants, and methods to improve silage going in and out of storage. There will be two concurrent sessions on feeding beef and dairy animals and a session on pricing corn silage. Attendees will be able to view different corn silage varieties and interact with 10 sponsors displaying the newest technologies and equipment used in making silage.
Sioux Center MOPS – Mothers Of PreSchoolers – is a community of moms from all walks of life who laugh together and support each other.
