Families are welcome to enjoy this year’s Storywalk book, The Attic Christmas by B.G. Hennessy. The book will be on display from December 10-18. Start at B&B Plumbing and walk along to read the story in the windows along the east side of Highway 75. Stop at the library for a cup of hot cocoa when you finish the Storywalk.
Ireton Christian is hosting a soup supper and candy walk on December 10 at the Ireton Christian School gym. Serving from 5-7pm. Menu includes taverns, coneys, hot dogs, pie, and ice cream. Soups are chicken, potato, and chili. A free will donation will be offered. The 2nd annual candy walk includes a variety of Christmas treats. Pick out what you like and pay by the pound.
The Western Christian High School Music Department invites all to celebrate Christmas by attending the Western Christian High School Choral and Instrumental Christmas Concert on Monday, December 10 at 7:00pm in the Event Center at Western Christian. All the choral and instrumental groups at Western Christian will be performing and celebrating in music the birth of our Lord and Savior.
‘Christmas Jazz Night’ at Dordt College will take place on Tuesday, December 11, at 7:30 pm in the B.J. Haan Auditorium and will feature the Kantorei (a 16 voice jazz choir) and Jazz Band. The Kantorei will be celebrating the birth of Christ in unique and intricate ways with a cappella renditions of Mary Did You Know by Pentatonix, familiar carols like Silent Night and the Coventry Carol approached from a jazz perspective, and songs performed in collaboration with the Jazz Band. The Dordt Jazz Band will be swinging to some holiday classics like, Here Comes Santa Claus, Santa Clause is Coming to Town, and Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. Come in out of the cold for a night of light, bright jazz music.
Sioux Center Health is providing an Adult First Aid/CBLS/AED Class on Tuesday, December 11, from 6:30-10pm in conference room 2. This class is designed for adults to be prepared for first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillator (AED) use in a safe, timely, and effective manner. The Dairy Directions Seminars are scheduled for Tuesday, December 11 in Sac County and Wednesday, December 12 in Pocahontas County. Both programs will be held at the local Iowa State University Extension and Outreach County office. While there is no registration fee, a call to the local ISU Extension and Outreach office will reserve your seat and guarantee your free lunch.

Sioux County Conservatives will host Drew Klein of Americans for Prosperity on Thursday, December 13th, for the next Pizza & Policy meeting. Klein, who is the executive director of Americans for Prosperity-Iowa, has worked on more than a dozen campaigns at the state and national levels. He also has legislative and policy experience from time spent working in the state capitol. The event will begin at 7:00 pm. It will be held at the Sioux Center Pizza Hut.
Everyone is invited to a free “Community Unity” meal in Sioux Center on Thursday, December 13, from 6-7pm at New Life Reformed Church. The meal host of the month is the Pella Corporation.
