Multicultural Night – All Nations City Church & Lifelight

Date: August 25, 2017

Time: 6PM - 8PM

Location: Sertoma Park, Sioux Falls, SD

All Nations City Church (a local ministry which organizes worship, picnics, and seminars to celebrate diversity and unity in the name of Jesus), in partnership with Lifelight, is hosting a Multicultural Night at Sertoma Park’s Shelter in Sioux Falls from 6-8pm, featuring great music and a potluck supper of various ethnic food. All are welcome!

Feekes Adoption Supper & 5K

Time: 24: 5:30PM - 7:30PM

Come and support Travis & Jessica Feekes on Friday, August 25, for a freewill donation supper at Children’s Park from 5:30-7:30pm, and on Saturday, August 26, will the Beating Hearts 5K run/1 mile walk. Proceeds from the supper and race will go towards adoption costs. SCCS Back-to-School Bash

Dordt College Football Open Practice

Time: 4-5:50 p.m.

Location: Football Complex at Open Space Park

Dordt College Football invites the public to its open practice on Saturday, Aug. 26, from 4-5:50 p.m at Open Space Park. From  4-5:30 p.m., the football team will conduct an open practice and give insight into what it’s like behind the scenes as a collegiate football squad prepares for a new season. Fans, children, families and students are all invited to attend and watch the Defenders in action.

After practice ends, from 5:30-5:50 p.m., the Defenders will host a meet-and-greet with this year’s football team and staff. Fans can come down onto the field, meet the players, play catch, and even take on a tackling dummy or two.

42nd National Old-Time Music Festival

The 42nd National Old-Time Music Festival will be held at the Plymouth County Fairgrounds in Le Mars from August 28 – September 3. Featuring 10 big stages, Over 500 scheduled performers, 300+ RV spaces, workshops, 6 nights of dances, arts & crafts fleamarkets, Hall of Fame inductions, Rural Roots Music Awards, international performers, and celebrities including Terry Smith, Booby Lewis, the Kenaston Family, Dale Eichor, Greta Elkin, Jenny Blackadder, Dave Berg and many more. Admission is $20 per day Monday – Thursday, $25 per day Friday – Sunday, or $80 per person for a 7 day pass. Kids 17 and under attend free. Labor Day Pancake Breakfast

Women in the Outdoors

Location: Oak Grove Park, Sioux County, IA

Looking for a great outing with the girls? Women in the Outdoors is your chance to get away and have a fun day exploring new hobbies and meeting new people! Sioux County Conservation Board’s Women in the Outdoors workshop will run from 8am-4:30pm at Oak Grove on September 9 and is open to all ladies age 14 and up. (Participants 14-17 are asked to attend with an adult) Join in as they create Dutch Oven dishes, learn about survival strategies, try your skills at navigation, learn cording as the settlers and Native Americans did, learn about and shoot a muzzleloader and rifle! This event is sponsored by the National Wild Turkey Federation and co-hosted by Sioux, Lyon, O’Brien, and Osceola Country Conservation boards. The $45 registration fee includes a National Wild Turkey Federation membership, subscription to Women in the Outdoors magazine, all of the activities and the noon meals.
