US Senator Chuck Grassley says the Republican leadership in the Senate wants to write another coronavirus relief package, but the move is stalled so far. The hold up is with minority Democrats.
Before the election, the House was pressing for a deal, but the House speaker would not compromise.
At the time, the Speaker of the House was using her refusal as leverage to negotiate a deal before the elections this month.
Grassley says a deal in the Senate is being held up by a filibuster by Minority Democrats. The Democrats want no part of the Republican’s bill, which is $500 billion in aid. The House bill proposed last month is for $3 trillion.
