Discussions have opened this week in the US Senate on another coronavirus aid package. US Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa will chair discussions over insurance and other cost issues surrounding coronavirus.
Agreement on a final package is several weeks away, but Senator Grassley anticipates there will be another round of stimulus checks sent to Americans.
Grassley doesn’t advocate for more stimulus checks, but it’s the most timely solution. Congress needs to approve a new package by early August, when the earlier one expires. Majority Republicans want to keep the package at around a trillion dollars, while the House has already approved a 3 trillion dollar package.
