This week, the Sioux Center City Council gave final approval to improvements constructed at Open Space Park. Parks Director Lee Van Meeteren says the largest part of the project was paving the drive leading to the softball and baseball fields.
Van Meeteren says the completed project provides better access to the facilities at Open Space Park.
Part of the project included restoring a gravel parking area to grass, and extending sidewalks to the parking lot and city trail system. It also provides access to the parks department facilities, adjacent to the football field. The total cost of the project was $103,000, less than the project’s construction estimate.
