Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds will wait and see how her latest orders to curb coronavirus work before she takes additional steps. She said her declaration last week was the right move.
The Governor ordered last week that bars and pubs in six Iowa counties be closed because of potential pandemic spread.
Reynolds says she want to see if what she puts in place in an adequate response to the outbreaks.
Governor Reynolds says she considered a number of factors when before shutting down those businesses, including the populations of the counties, the numbers of students returning to school, the age group involved, its impact on community spread, and pressure on health care infrastructure. The six counties are all college towns where thousands of students are returning for classes.
