The US may be strengthening trade ties with Taiwan. US Senator Charles Grassley says Taiwan announced that it’s loosening its trade barriers, and that may open the door to more US exports of beef and pork.
The senator thinks there’s more to this move than trade.
Taiwan isn’t a huge trading partner, but their move to loosen trade barriers to the United States is a welcome one.
Iowa will benefit from the move. Taiwan typically tries to keep American beef and pork out of their country. Senator Grassley says military pressure from China may have influenced the Taiwanese’ move.
