Even during this COVID-19 pandemic, as Christians we have hope—we know the end of the story. Christ lived, died, is risen and ascended, and is coming again. And he tells us, “Fear not!” Psalm 46 says, “Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way, and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea.”
Still, it is becoming clear that many Dordt students will face significant challenges as they continue the pursuit of their degree at Dordt University.
- Many of Dordt’s 1,500 students have gone home to families whose work situations have been disrupted; as a result, some of these students are unsure if they’ll be able to continue attending Dordt.
- There are other expenses that have been incurred as students have had to pack up, ship, or store their possessions and cover travel costs.
- Though several of the 150 students currently sheltering on campus do not have meal plans, we want to feed them on campus to prevent exposure or community spread of the virus.
That is why Dordt is launching the Dordt University Hope Fund—to help Dordt students who have financial hardships due to COVID-19, to make it possible for every student to complete their degree at Dordt. By supporting our students today, we send them a message of hope.
Please consider supporting the Hope Fund financially. We appreciate your prayers for KDCR, our students and for Dordt University in these challenging times.
