Sioux County Trails is working on a tentative route for a new recreation trail in Sioux County. Brian Van Engen recently met with the county board of supervisors to explain their plans to date.
The trail will extend along water courses, some beside gravel roads, and some in county right of way.
Van Engen made several requests of the county at the meeting Tuesday.
Van Engen says the project will be done in phases, with phase one extending from the south terminus at Orange City, to approximately 81-hundred feet west to Ironwood.
Sioux County Trails is working on funding for the project. Costs for the 4.5 mile project is estimated at 250-thosuand dollars per mile.
